The brief indicated the desire for a contemporary form but also referencing the Art Deco period of near by properties. The materials and colours reflect this architectural style.

Built for the father of Su, Marcus Brumwell which was a retired chief of an advertising agency and lover art and navigation in Cornwall

Pillwood House 1974 John Miller .of Colquhoun and Miller with Su Rogers, Grade II* ListedBuilt for Marcus Brumwell, an advertising executive and founder of the Design Research Unit. The building pioneered the use of GRP (Fibreglass). and is It is remarkably little altered, retaining its original details.
